Kitchen Makers by Burbidge
In-frame kitchens with a crafted feel.
Where good design begins
In-frame kitchens with presence.
Kitchen Makers by Burbidge is the in-frame collection from Burbidge. Sitting at the more substantial end of the range, it’s designed for clients who want a kitchen with visible frame detail and a strong sense of furniture quality.
The doors sit inside a solid constructed face frame. You see the frame around each door and drawer. Compared to a standard lay-on door, this detail gives the kitchen more depth, weight and traditional character.
RFK designs and installs Kitchen Makers kitchens across Rugby, Warwick, Market Harborough and the surrounding areas.

Designed around proportion and detail.
For in-frame kitchens proportion is important. The frame, door size, drawer layout, handles and worktop all affect how the finished room feels.
We look at the property, the room size, the light and the level of detail the space can carry. We also help you decide whether Kitchen Makers is the right fit, or whether a standard Burbidge kitchen would suit the brief better.

What kind of kitchen can you create with Kitchen Makers?
Kitchen Makers is rooted in classic in-frame design, but it doesn’t have to feel heavy or formal. The final result depends on the colour, handle choice, worktop and the wider room.

Thinking about a Kitchen Makers by Burbidge kitchen?
The first step is a design consultation. We’ll talk through your home, your budget and whether Kitchen Makers by Burbidge is the right range for your project.
Have a question about Kitchen Makers by Burbidge?
-
Yes, slightly. Because the face frame is built around the cabinet opening, the usable internal width is a little narrower than the equivalent frameless cabinet.
In practice, the difference is small. It is typically around 25 to 40mm, depending on the frame profile. For most kitchens, it has no meaningful effect on storage capacity or internal fittings.
It is worth knowing if you are comparing in-frame and frameless options directly. It is rarely a reason to rule out in-frame construction. We will talk through the practicalities in the context of your layout.
-
Both use Burbidge doors, but the construction method is different.
A standard Burbidge kitchen uses doors fitted to the front of the carcass in the conventional way. Kitchen Makers is an in-frame range. The doors sit inside a solid constructed face frame that is built as part of the cabinet itself.
You can see the frame around every door and drawer. That gives the kitchen a more substantial, crafted quality. The difference is most apparent in person.
A Kitchen Makers kitchen feels heavier and more considered than a standard lay-on door kitchen. It sits at the more substantial end of the traditional market.
-
Yes. Kitchen Makers is rooted in classic in-frame design, but it can feel more current when the details are handled carefully.
A restrained colour, slim door furniture and a quieter worktop can make the kitchen feel cleaner without losing the depth and presence the frame provides. Beneath that, the veneered oak cabinets and solid oak dovetailed drawer boxes are more substantial than you'd find in a standard kitchen – the specification doesn't change because the look does.
The frame gives structure and craftsmanship. The surrounding choices determine whether the result feels traditional or more contemporary.
-
Usually, yes. In-frame construction is more detailed than standard lay-on cabinetry.
The frame, door setting and installation all require more work. The finished result carries a different level of detail and weight.
We will explain the cost difference clearly so you can decide whether the additional investment feels right for the project and the room.
-
Yes, and often very well. A contemporary extension does not always need a contemporary kitchen.
In some homes, an in-frame kitchen gives a new space warmth, character and a more settled feel. This is especially useful where the extension is part of a period or traditional property, making the kitchen feel connected to the original house.
-
Soft neutrals, off-whites, greens, blues and deeper tones all work well.
The right colour depends on the room, the light it gets and the character of the home. Colour shapes how the whole kitchen feels, so we take that conversation seriously.
We will compare samples in the showroom and, where useful, provide samples to take home.
-
With more restraint than many clients initially expect. The face frame already gives the kitchen detail and structure.
If the door furniture is too large, too ornate or too busy, it can compete with the frame. Traditional knobs, simple cup pulls and understated bar handles tend to work best.
A well-chosen handle on an in-frame kitchen should feel considered and proportionate. We will talk through the options in the context of the colour, door style and overall tone of the room.
-
It can, if the specification is too heavy for the room. That is why proportion and restraint matter.
The frame already gives the kitchen detail. The colour, handles, worktop and lighting then need to be balanced carefully.
A well-designed in-frame kitchen can feel warm and current. The risk is usually in overdoing it: too dark a colour, too ornate a handle or too much detail in every decision at once. Considered design makes the difference.

The cabinets are built on a veneered blockboard carcass, factory-assembled using dowel and glue construction for rigidity and long-term stability.
Drawer boxes are solid oak dovetailed, mounted on Blum soft-close runners as standard. Hinges are either traditional butt hinges or Blum clip-on soft-close, depending on the specification. Hardware is sourced from Blum, Kesseböhmer, Hettich and Häfele.
This specification is more substantial than a standard Burbidge kitchen. The veneered carcass and solid oak dovetailed drawers reflect the additional investment Kitchen Makers represents. A number of cabinet variations are available and your designer will walk you through the options at the design consultation.
-
The best starting point is a design consultation. We will look at the room, the style you want, the budget and how the kitchen needs to work.
If Kitchen Makers suits the brief, we will explain why. If a standard Burbidge kitchen or another range would serve the project better, we will say so.
-
It depends on the size of the kitchen, the cabinetry and features you are drawn to, and the appliances.
There’s some guide pricing on our pricing page, but the best way to understand what’s achievable for your budget is a design consultation. There we can talk through the options honestly and without pressure.
